Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan is an exciting new initiative in the Grand Traverse area. The mission of Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan is the collection and re-distribution of soon-to-expire fresh foods from available sources (e.g. grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, bakeries, etc.) to people in need through the area’s food pantries, shelters and community meals programs.
Our new “Food to the Rescue Cookbook” will help fund the program and put more food on the tables of hungry Northwest Michigan families.
We are gathering 100 recipes for a preview release of the “Food to the Rescue Cookbook”, available for download online just in time for the Holidays.
Recipes are being contributed by: The People; Local Celebrities; and Local Chefs.
