    Local Author Signs Copies of Cookbooks to Raise Money to Reduce Hunger in Community

    Traverse City, Michigan – March, 10 2009 – Horizon Books of Traverse City is hosting a book signing event for local author Paul Guyon. He will sign copies of his Food to the Rescue Cookbook. The event will raise funds and awareness of the fight to reduce hunger in Northwest Michigan.

    The event will be hosted by Horizon Books in Downtown Traverse City, Michigan on Saturday, March 14, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The first 10 who purchase a Cookbook will receive free gift package. Attendees can enter a drawing to win a free cookbook.

    Andy LaPointe from Traverse Bay Farms says; “This cookbook has great recipes and it also supports an excellent organization. Buy this book!”

    Mr. Guyon’s business, Direct Response Marketing Results, helps local businesses increase profits and operating efficiencies by implementing technology and proven online and offline marketing systems.     The mission of Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan is the collection and re-distribution of soon-to-expire fresh foods from available sources (e.g., grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, bakeries, etc.) to people in need through the area’s food pantries, shelters and community meal programs.

    Food Rescue started its rescue mission in August of 2008. Since its first pickup, in October, over 37,000 pounds of perfectly good food has been rescued and delivered to those who need it most.
