Pancakes for Breakfast
By Mikey Buttars | September 1, 2009
No longer will you have to go to the grocery store and buy pancake mixes. With things you have at home you can create your own original pancake mix. It just takes some ingredients you can find in your pantry at home.
The ingredients that you will need for you’re at home pancake mix are: flour, sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt, baking powder, baking soda, milk and vegetable oil. Depending on how many pancakes you want is depending on how much you mix.
More flower will create thicker pancakes, more milk will create thinner pancakes. You will have to play around with the ingredients to get the right texture you desire.
After you have a tester pancake you will be able to play around with your recipe. Add a1/4 cup of batter on a skillet, this should make a good size pancake. You can add a little bit more if you so desire.
Once the sides of the pancake start to bubble and turn brown this is the time to flip and continuing cooking on the other side. If this is still your tester pancake then you can adjust the flour, milk, or size on the next pour.
To make a thicker pancake full of ingredients such as fresh fruit or perhaps a hand full of chocolate chips, then there really is a best time to add this to your mix. By now you should have played with the mix to get your desired consistency.
When it is time to lay it out on the hot plate or skillet pour the desired amount out and then add the ingredients to one side. See notes on when to flip the pancake and when flipped the ingredients should blend evenly into the pancake.
The pancake mix is not a hard one to create and make your own. No longer do you have to be without pancakes on a weekend morning because you forgot to pick up a prepackaged mix at the grocery store.
Making pancakes from home is very easy to do. With the right ingredients, you can make a very tastey pancake mix from scratch with items you find in your cupboard. You can enjoy a healthy breakfast every day.
