The National Lottery As A Charity Funding Idea
By Peter Moore | June 30, 2009
Unfortunately many charities fail to benefit from donations from the National lottery, with the small charities possibly missing out the most. However, today all need not be lost, as a different method of setting up a lottery funding project is now available.
It was sin 2005 that a handful of the Premier League football clubs started to use this fund raising idea to finance the up and coming youngsters in their youth development sides. More football clubs and cricket clubs in the UK have since followed suit.
Charities have now caught on to the potential that this lottery fund raising idea can allow them to offer their supporters something of value in return for their donations, rather than relying on them to give freely only when they can afford it.
Twenty million people already enjoy playing the lottery in the UK, but now by clubbing together and still making a donation to their favoured charity, they can play with a much better chance of winning when compared to buying a single ticket.
Make a head count of the number of people in your club or organisation and multiply this number by four. The number that you come up with is the potential monthly donation that your charity might benefit by, not just once, but on a regular basis. Here is how the program works.
Supporters join either a UK National Lotto syndicate or a Euro Millions lottery syndicate from your own unique lottery website with the charity name of your choice at the top. From here they can play for as long as they like, with at least one guaranteed matching number in every draw, for just five pounds a week, of which one pound goes to your charity by way of commission.
No deductions are taken from winnings, which are shared equally and distributed to syndicate members after each draw. All this is taken care of automatically by the company, leaving the charity to simply promote their website.
The operating company have been running this International lottery system since 2002 and do not charge anyone to join in, and being members of the UK Lotteries Council, everything is above board and legal and run in a professional way.
